About Us

Located in La Crosse, WI and founded in 1983, the United Fund for the Arts and Humanities (UFAH) campaigns diligently on behalf of twelve nonprofit member organizations.  Our goal is to increase funding for these nonprofit organizations to utilize art and culture as a community renaissance tool. These potential contributions towards art and culture improve the social, economic, and environmental aspects of our community life.  Additionally, UFAH strives to decrease the administrative work for both its sponsors and the beneficiary organization.

Organizations' ticket sales and memberships provide only a small portion of needed funding.  Therefore, distributions from UFAH are crucial for the success of our member organizations, creating a strong financial base that enables their continued pursuit of excellence in programming.

Our Mission

UFAH enhances the cultural life of the area by encouraging and providing opportunities for businesses to invest in the programs of local Arts and Humanities organizations in an efficient and effective way.

UFAH originated in 1983 as a partnership between the business and arts communities to increase funds for the arts and decrease paperwork for both the giver and beneficiary.

Music has always been a special part of my life.  It brightens my day and gives me hope.  The La Crosse Girlchoir is one of my favorite things, because I can sing and also make new friends.  Music and the arts is the heart of my happiness.”
